Andreas Fischer is Economic Adviser at the International Research Unit of the Swiss National Bank, Research Fellow at CEPR (London), Research Associate at GMPI (Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas), and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bern. While on leave from the Swiss National Bank, he has served as Program Director at Gerzensee Study Centre and as Economist at the OECD. Prior to joining the Swiss National Bank, he was an Economist at Prometeia.
In recent years, Andreas Fischer has been a Consult for the European Commission, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Central Bank of Peru. He holds undergraduate degrees in political economy and computer sciences from the University of California at Berkeley and a doctorate in economics from Oxford University. His research interests are in monetary policy and international finance.
