Fernando is a Senior Research Economist at the Bank of England's International Directorate, and a PhD candidate in economics at Oxford University (Mansfield College). His research interests include international macroeconomics and international finance. His work has been published in the Journal of Financial Intermediation and the Journal of International Money and Finance.
