Simeon Djankov is Policy Director with the Financial Markets Group at the London School of Economics and Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington DC. Prior to these appointments Dr. Djankov was Director of Development Economics at the World Bank and deputy prime minister and minister of finance of Bulgaria from 2009 to 2013. He is the founder of the World Bank's Doing Business project. Dr Djankov holds a PhD in International Economics from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
